A/Prof Mikhail Sarofim

Dr Mikhail Sarofim is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist specialising in advanced laparoscopic and robotic gynaecological surgery. His practice focuses on women-centred care, minimal intervention, and evidence-based management of complex gynaecological conditions, including pelvic pain, endometriosis, fibroids, adenomyosis, and complex hysterectomy.

Dr Sarofim completed his medical degree at the University of New South Wales, followed by junior training at St George Hospital, Sydney, while completing a Master of Surgical Sciences at the University of Sydney. He achieved FRANZCOG accreditation after specialist training across major Sydney hospitals.

He then undertook an AGES-accredited fellowship in advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery at the Sydney Women’s Endosurgery Centre, one of Australia’s leading minimally invasive training programs. This fellowship equipped him with high-level expertise in robotic surgery for severe endometriosis, myomectomy, and complex pelvic reconstruction.

Dr Sarofim contributes to research and education through publications and presentations at national and international meetings. He serves on the AGES R-SIG board, is involved in Australia’s pioneering uterine transplant program at the Royal Hospital for Women, and lectures at UNSW, where he helps shape the women’s-health curriculum.

Now based on the Gold Coast, he provides compassionate, high-quality robotic and minimally invasive surgical care to women across Queensland and northern NSW.
